Save The Date Inspiration 2022

It's officially Save The Date season!! Which means, we are LIVING for fun save the date inspo, am I right!? I know Save the date's can seem sort of- well, basic, and not thought much about- a lot of people I chat with actually rush this process and just end up printing from a company that mass produces Save The Dates, which is super convenient. Don't get me wrong, they are also very cute, but often leave the save the date lacking of your wedding theme. This is why I try to access my clients before they send out their Save The Date, so we can intentionally design with their wedding style in mind. If you're interested in incorporating a unique save the date to your wedding day prints, here are some fun routes you could go!

  1. Arch-

Sometimes finding a unique design is as simple as adding a shape into your design! Arch paper invites (or save the dates) are so much fun and can really brand your wedding day if you're going with a boho feel, or maybe using arch shapes with other paper items day of- think welcome sign, table numbers, menus etc. Continuing a theme is key when incorporating shapes into your wedding paper. I just love the softness that an arch creates- and trust me, everyone will remember an arch save the date!

2. Square-

Square Save the dates can make a beautiful impact for a modern wedding design, not only is this really different from the classic 4 X 6 shape, but it looks really pretty coming in a square envelope- guests for sure notice when envelopes are different shapes, it tends to really stick out in the fun mail pile & often they will hold onto a shape that is different just because- why not?!

3. Embellishments-

Lately I've been seeing this trend all over reels & tik tok, which I am loving! Do you want your save the date to REALLY stand out? Add a fun belly band, wax seal or even dried flowers to your design. This elevates your wedding theme to the NEXT level. Typically my clients save this kind of thing for their wedding day invitations- but wow your guests and make them eager for your wedding event by creating that hype early on- I promise it will not go unnoticed!

4- Vellum-

Vellum is soooo fun to play with, not only can you use this as a belly band, or a invite full wrap, but you can also make this a slide out piece by attaching it to your invite card- creating a little textural cover for your save the date reveal! So fun and totally different. This will show guests you aren't just a copy & paste wedding.

5. Handmade paper-

Handmade paper is having it's moment in 2022. I would say 60% of my clients are requesting handmade paper quotes right now. That's so exciting because handmade paper is sooo romantic and beautiful. I love the idea of a simple design on these to really showcase your wedding feel. I also love handmade paper in colors! So fun & defiantly unique. Perfect for that romantic couple who doesn't really want to showcase an engagement photo for the save the date.

Are any of these speaking your love language? Let's chat! I would love to see how we can add one of these unique ideas into your wedding day paper suite.
